I was lucky enough to get invited by a friend to watch a WBA championship boxing match and got up closer and personal. I've never shot fast paced events and this was a great opportunity to test out my new 24-70L lens. I absolutely love that lens and here's what I learned. Any other advice is VERY welcomed!

*Let me preface these images with the fact that I was standing behind other official photographers, so I was basically taking pictures behind people's backs. I wish the ropes were removed from 80% of the pictures, but it was an necessary evil.

- I set my focal point to dead center and it ruined a lot of my pictures, including this one. I'll probably set my focal point to either the top left or top right depending on where the fighter's at.
- I shot at ISO 1600, 1/200/ f5.6. Was fast, but still pretty slow.

- So my previous settings were too slow and I figured 2.8 1/1000 of a second was nice enough, but ended up being too shallow of a DOF. The gloves are sharp in this shot, but the fighter's faces were a tad OOF.

Some shots that I particularly liked.

-DOF was really shallow at 2.8. Need to a shoot a little smaller next time.

- Tack sharp "Kina", but the rest is OOF. VERY shallow DOF to play with.

I started getting comfortable towards the main event, but then a security guard told me to sit down because I didn't have official photographer credentials
