Came home today to find out that our house had been broken into. They had taken 4-5 DVD box sets and a watch I inherited from my dad. But I guess they werent too much into cameras:

Sorry for the cell phone pic!

Thats my 5D right there on the table. With the 50L and a 580EX II attached. The grey lens bag holds my 16-35L mk II and in the bottom right corner you can just see the handle of the lens case holding the 70-300 DO IS USM. My Domke F-1X bag had been rummaged through as well, but nothing was taken... My studio strobes were untouched as well.

I guess the cops won't have to check any mensa members for this one...

Sorry to hear about the burglary - that sucks (I know - ive been in that situation a few years back).

Probably find that the burglars thought it was a film camera or they were disturbed and made off quickly.

Sorry to see that you were robbed but the fact that multiple thousands worth of camera gear was left untouched was quite comical to say the least. Must have been some pretty good movies haha.

They ran off with my Godfather DVD box set... If they hadn't taken the wife's Sex & The City box as well, I could at least have said they had a nice taste in movies. The TV and home cinema setup (Denon - not cheap) weren't even touched, neither was any of our laptops.

That's horrible. Not to mention the box set of S&TC is expensive, but not compared to your gear lol

Ha maybe it was a Christmas gift for their wife/gf. Society never ceases to amaze.

They're probably after a quick no-risk win. Electronic equipment can be hard to sell off as they have annoying serial numbers that can possibly be traced.

DVDs etc are a quick win. Completely untraceable.

Glad that you weren't at home at the time though. A burglary and associated invasion of "home" is never a pleasant thing to come home to.

I know Princess Mary likes both those shows, better check her place out....:p;):D

Good news on your gear being ok, terrible feeling though having your home violated though.

I would check her place but something tells me they have better security than I do...

Strangely enough, I'm not bothered by them having been in my house at all, but the wife and our 4-year old are pretty freaked out.
