I don't get it. The whole "taking pictures of ducks" thing.. is it a joke?

I don't know for sure, but always thought it was common because a lot of people get a new lens or camera, then go to the park to test it out. I guess that the most obvious subject at the park is always a duck, so people take pictures of them.

The ducks also have a lot of colours, well malards do, so a good way to test and check the sharpness because of the feathers.

Ducks are cute and easy to take pictures of.
