I just installed Lightroom and tried to import Raw files from my 5DMKII via "Import from Device" but Lightroom didn't see them. It recognized the camera but only gave me the option of importing some jpgs I had take a few days ago.

When I downloaded the Raw files on my hard drive via EOS utility and used the "import from disk" option Lightroom saw them right away.

I check for updates and I am using the lastest Lightroom version.

Any ideas?? Am i missing something basic??

I have a card reader, but if I am importing less than 20 shots at a time I usually just connect the camera so I don't forget to reinsert the card when I grab the camera next.

So in those instances continue to use EOS Utility. When it comes to CR2 files LR's 'Import from Device' means "Import from Reader".

I never use this sort of import (always USB and EOS Utility) but just tried it out.

I connected my 5D2, openend LR and clicked "Import from Device" and a window openend with some questions about what I wanted to import from the 5D2 (date shot) and how (file name) and where I want to put them.... So it works obviously.

(I only installed LR to try it out and have only a couple of days left... ;) )
