I've had it basically when it first came out and never noticed this happen. I mainly shoot in Av mode with the odd Tv. I noticed recently when I was shooting some items in a light tent that when I wanted to shoot wide open (2.8 ) and I metered the item (spot) by half pressing the shutter button (I have the the AF off the shutter and on the AF-On button) I can see the aperture adjust to a higher f number and sure enough when I took the shot it was at that number and not what I set it at. I thought that the user has control of the setting (be it ss or ap) and the camera adjusts the other. Or am I missing something here??
