What beer do serious Canon users drink?

Hey, what part of Michigan, runnin? I'm down here in the SW corner, but I also brew.

About 35-40 minutes north of Dee-troit.

I haven't brewed much lately, but I plan to get busy this winter. When I was more consistent, I normally brewed 30-50 gallons (10 gallon batches) in October/November and a like amount or more in February/April. Kegged some and bottled some so that I had a year round supply both for home and portable use.

Right on. I haven't brewed since summer thanks to having a second child, but the 30 gallons or so I have kegged will keep me going for a while.

The British should have left stout to the Germans as they cannot brew a good one for the life of them. They should concentrate instead on what they do well, Porter. AHhhhhh British Porter.

Neil,, there are some sh!te Australian beers also.. One in particular is Victoria Bitter.. It's not the lack of taste but the taste,, it's also the top selling beer in Australia.. Also our big export beer Fosters is rot gut.. I don't know of anyone who actually drinks it in Australia..

What is becoming popular in Australia are the micro brewery beers.. A little more expensive but great beers..

My father, a German immigrant to Australia and a beer drinker still maintains the best beers come out of Czechoslovakia especially the Pilsner style beers..

Beer's for wussies. Even you Canon wielding beer drinkers.

I'll take vodka, rum or whiskey over beer any time.

On the rare occasion I drink beer, it's gotta ice cold Sierra Nevade, Sammy's, Shiner Bock, etc. Anything Anheuser-Busch gives me a headache.

I presume you're speaking of Bud and Miller and Coors and the like; and not of Sierra Nevada, Full Sail, some Sam Adams styles and those I pictured above among many, many others.

When "American" beer consisted strictly of the modern versions of the popular brands, there was very little substance to them. Now, even they are trying to market more flavorful offerings in light of the growth of craft brewing here in the U.S.

When I was a boy, back in the fifties, the popular brands were different than they are now. Most, if not all were 100% barley brews, with no rice, they presented more hops aroma, and "light" beer had not yet been invented.

Regional brews like Cincinnati's Hudepohl, Schoenling and Burger were brewed in the tradition of the German immigrants who brought their trade to the U.S.

I've been a beer drinker for at least 56 years and I've seen (and tasted) the good and the not-so-good of "American" beer.

Yes I was talking about real beer as opposed to "lite". The nearest I get to light beer is IPA (Deuchars is my favourite

the local liquor store has a build your own 6 pack and see some of these beers in there may need to build one and sample.

Mine favs are; in no particular order:

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Boddington's
Guiness
Fat Tire
And always enjoy a hearty unfiltered Hefeweizen from the local micro-brewery.

Oh, and anyone try the New Castle mini-keg yet?
