I am a long time DPP user but the free LR3beta sounded like a good chance to see what all the fuss was about...

I have no experience with 1 or 2 and need a good tutorial on develop section to get me going in the right direction....

Any suggestions?

I'd start off with one of the many tutorials for LR2, many of the features will be the same.

In addition to what Pete suggested, you can download the PDF version of LR2 Help:

http://help.adobe.com …/2.0/lightroom_2_help.pdf (external link)

Lightroom 3 has some additional features, but not a lot and nothing is taken out of LR2 as far as I know, so using LR2 Help is a very good way of getting to know the overal program. Then, if you just use Google for something like "Lightroom tutorial" you will find a ton of these. Look for links to the Adobe site for some good starting ones, as well as the site www.lightroomkillertips.com (external link) -- both of thes are good quality resources.

Hope this helps some!
