hey Freddy, Nice pic. I think that maybe taking the pic from a lower point to capture more sky would look nice.

freddycr, I like it, as is. You do this thing with some of your compositions where the rest of the picture is out of the frame, or it is composed right to left (your controversial beach candid comes to mind). I like that you break the "rules" and come up with some interesting pictures. I'm not sure all of this is intentional, but it must be there in your mind, "I like it this way," and snap, you got it. Pretty cool. I think that if taken from a lower perspective you might lose the sense of distance the subject is obviously contemplating. Perhaps lamenting even? Is there someone or something she needs across the bay? Overall, it's just a little different, and I like it that way.

Maybe you can try another shot from different angle that we can see the girl's eye and also put the sea as the background....
It's better to avoid those buildings.

Poor English explaination :o hope anyone know what I am talking about

It feels too impressional. It's her back. It feels unattached. I think you need to be closer into it. I think that's the biggest difference between shots today in the digital craze. Everyone tends to avoid the contact(unless its posed), which gives it a nice personal feel.

Thanks for your suggestions.
Let me explain the elements that I took into consideration in composing this pic.
Far shore.& near shore..top & bottom horizontal lines "framing the pic"
The big expanse of sea, together with the position of the girl, and the triangle that forms her folded arm and body lead the sight diagonally across the picture to....the white statue on the top right (representing the native girl "Catalina", a princess of extraordinary beauty that was "abducted" in the early 1600's by a spanish conquistador and taken to Rep. Dominican. (an icon of the city).

BTW..this is the full frame from the cam
Regards

So it does read left to right. Thanks for the description. I like to campare the meaning I got from the picture with the photographer's intentions. I like the picture more, now that I know more.
