I was playing with Canon's new Hybrid IS lens (18-135mm) last night and I thought new IS is much better than old IS.
Have anyone used Canon's new IS lens and got the same impression?
Do you think new IS better than old IS?

i can't imagine Canon would create a newer version that was worse than the old one.

The new Canon EF 100mm F2.8L USM Macro is the only lens so far to have the new Hybrid IS.

The 15-85 and 18-135 were announced at the same time but they just have regular old fashioned 4-stop IS.

I wonder if the hybrid IS is going to only be on L lenses... or if all new IS lenses will have hybrid IS

The hybrid IS is only a benefit at very close focusing distances, and therefore will probably only be used on macro lenses.
