We couldn't believe it when the Barred Owl came out late in the afternoon to begin its hunt for food. To top it off he landed on this stump.

Gone for a week, so I probably won't be able to reply until I get back. It's minus 22 degrees where I'm going.:)

Mao, some guys have all the luck. Really beautiful image! If I ever saw one of these it would undoubtedly be in full glaring sun or backlit like yu wouldn't believe.

Very sweet image, Light is rite where you want it, You couldn't have posed the bird yourself any better. what an awesome capture and experience this must have been.

Owls seem very popular up that way, I have never seen an Owl here in daylight, here plenty at night, but never see any in daylight...

Great work, keep warm, wherever it is your going, Im assuming further Northward <Burr>

What a great shot!... You have everything going in the composition, can't say if I have ever seen a better Barred Owl shot... he even found a "magic perch."
