Is it my imagination or am I noticing a little better image quality with the 20D?

I got a new lens too [a 17-85 IS] so that *may* have something to do with it.

You will.

Lens will have more to do with how well a camera performs over the body.

So, it's probably not my imagination and I'm probably getting better IQ for 2 reasons.

I was going to keep my Sigma lenses which are good, but I think Canon lenses are often a little better. I like the 17-85 IS more than I thought I would. :)

Not a bad lens at all. The wide end has lots of distortion but nothing a little photoshop could not remove, or it is a cool affect to leave it.

Sigma glass is nice, but I have found that most canon glass can beat it hands down for equivalents(24-70 vs 24-70L, 70-200 vs 70-200L, etc.).

Just remember, the camera only captures what the lens shows it.

I definitely noticed a difference going from my XTi to a 30D. (both were equipped with the kit 18-55 non-IS at the time).

Better IQ with the 30D?

oh yeah haha...should have mentioned that. I think it also had something to do with the fact that the 30D has a much larger pixel pitch than the XTi.

Hmmm...interesting. Form some reason I seemed to think the IQ of the D Rebel, Rebel XT, XTi, 20D, 30D, etc., were more or less very similar, and that only the lenses made a difference. I guess I was wrong about that.

The 20D is making the best IQ of any Canon dSLR I've ever had. The D Reb does take great shots but I guess the 20D can really leave it in the dust IQ wise. Guess I'm going to stick with this 20D. I like it a lot.
