It has been quite awhile since I put a gallery up on POTN so I guess the time is right (now.)

Furthur is the latest project of The Grateful Dead's Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. They are currently doing a mini-tour of the Northeast before starting a major spring tour in Feb. I have two more dates with them this Sat and Sun.

Comments and feedback, as always, is appreciated.

I have to agree with John, great set Tony.

That's one hell of a bass guitar!

Thanks, Richard. I appreciate it. I'm just now recovering from 4 gigs with them. Easily the closest match to The Grateful Dead any of the members has done so far and that includes The Dead with 4 of the surviving members. But, these shows take it out of you. I was a lot younger when I followed The Grateful Dead.

I agree that is one wild custom Ritter bass Phil plays. Although I have no photos of it, there are LEDs in the neck that light up when Phil wants them too. It seems to be the deep voiced relative of some of Prince's guitars.

Nice shots!

What's the deal w/ that pink Strat (well, clearly not a Fender, but Strat body) that Bob's playing?

I still hate that monstrous bass!

The pink guitar, which has excellent tone btw, is a custom Modulus, which Bob has a few models. More known for their basses, there aren't too many guitars by them out there. Fender threatened litigation for the head and models made after that one have a pointy head.

Phil likes it, so who am I too complain about that Ritter bass? I often have said that I would love to see Prince and Phil jam and now he has the bass to do it with!

Thanks for the compliment on the photos.

I love the black Modulus he plays (played? Not sure if it's still in use), the hollow or semi-hollow body w/ the lightning bolt cutouts.

Bob has a blue custom Modulus with the lightning bolts that you can see next to him in # 3. I like the tone to the pink guitar better althought the blue one looks cool.

Bobby and his sandles...lol. At least he was wearing long pants that night and not his shorts.

Just remember, the bass is only an instrument. When you play a bass as good as Phil Lesh does, you can play an insturment that looks like whatever you want it to look like. It still sounds great.
