Ok I don't have a flash yet so was wondering about recommendations on a budget. I have a 20D, and have never used flash before. I'm trying to break into Real Estate shooting, interiors mostly and need recommendations for on camera and off.
I've heard the 430EX II is good but its pretty expensive, would any other Non-canon flashes work on the hotshoe without worrying about trigger voltages being too high? Also I've heard the Nikon flashes are great, but would they work on my canon without that same Trigger voltage issue?
The SB-80DX's are terrific from what I'v heard but are there good alternatives? Best thing is I've heard any flash will triiger them to fire, are there again alternatives?
Then theres triggers. I've heard Maggic triggers are good and cheap as well as the RF-602's(I think thats right) from an ebay supplier.
Basically I want as much flexibility as I can get in the $200-300 range, which I realize isn't much, but I'm on unemployment now and money is certainly an issue.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, as a lot of sites like Real estate photography on Flickr and the Photography for real estate seem to favor Nikon and theres not as much advice on Canon there. Thanks !

I just picked up a Sunpak PZ42X for $149 from B&H, that includes free shipping and a Sunpak charger and a set of batteries.

As Gatorboy said, the Vivitar 285HV is about as good a value you can get.

5D II, 1D MkIII and a bunch of lenses I change too often to keep this current any longer.
