I found this guy sunning himself on a street in Cape Coral , Florida. Shot with a Canon XT and a Tamron 70-300.

ISO 200, f8, 1/500s, 141 mm on the first one.

Very nice capture. I would love the chance to come acrossed an Eastern Diamond Back Rattlesnake in the wild.

Good shooting, John. I've lived in Florida for over 55 years and have never seen a rattler in the wild here, except one my wife shot about 30 years ago. I've seen them in Texas, but never here.

This one was near Caloosa Pkwy at the far Northwest end of Cape Coral near the Mangroves.

Thanks to everyone for the coments.

I was in Florida last year for less than 48 hours and found two Eastern Diamondbacks. Absolutely gorgeous. Supposed to return this upcoming year and I hope to find more.

Really an attractive snake....except for the danger, of course. Beautiful shot, esp the first one.
