aRtra posted this link to a B&H video with a canon rep explaining features and how to use the 7d. best video ive seen,,way better than canons site videos. its 50 mins long. didnt want this to get lost in a post.

sit through the video and PAUSE THE VIDEO AND GET YOUR NOTEPAD OUT AT THE 48 MINUTE MARK and take notes and draw your diagrams, pause at each point. everything you need to know is right there. make yourself some notes and go out and shoot. problems will be solved.

1. automatic a/f point selection in one shot and a1 servo explained
2. manual focus--spot af-- manual af expansion--zone af-- explained

and they make alot of sense after watching the video. artra,,great find for 7d owners,,,,,,should be a stickybw!

I agree. I watched those videos a few days ago and they are really helpful. You do know that is the same guy that is narrating the Canon videos right?

Thanks for the video link. I'm surprised the Canon rep didn't touch base on the video capabilities of the 7D.

Edit: Nevermind, there are 3 videos. Watching the others now :)

Once you get past the over-eager sales pitch, this is a GREAT tutorial. Taking a break from video 2 right now.

I recieved my 7d earlier today, this video has been incredibly helpful getting it dialed in to my shooting styles. This machine is truly incredible... and not for the faint of heart. Blown away at all this thing can do, but would be completely lost without the manual and video tutorials. And the IQ on this thing is a surprisingly big improvement from my 40d's IQ, which I was completely satisfied with!!

I watched that video last week and bought a 7D the next day. In the long run that video saved me from buying a lesser camera which I would have outgrown in a year or two.

Thanks for the link! This has helped me a great deal already.

I have just popped in the freshly charged battery into my new 7D I picked up today. Using notes I took from the vids to get to grips with the 7D.
