After spending to much time indoors trying to adjust my Canon 70-300 IS and 7D I went out doors into the cold and and found the perfect target... my brick entry. Stood on the top step shot at about a 30 degree down angle, targeting in between two bricks and found that at 0 adjustment I am doing alright.

It's not the cold here in Denver but the gray that gets old.

Looks great, and better than a focus chart. :) Don't you love how DPP allows you to see the focus boxes so you can see in the picture where the camera focused? I am new to Canon so I have never seen this before but I really like it.

Looks pretty good.. I sometimes use the pavers on my driveway but prefer to test using real life situations..

I normally use this as my target,, it's more real life than shooting brick walls or lens test charts..

I shot this image after AF Micro adjusting my Sigma EX 50-150mm f/2.8 APO on my 50D..

150mm at f/2.8,,,pretty damn good..

I like seeing the focus boxes, but how do you get DPP to save them on the image?

Looks good. BTW, if you bring the pic into photoshop and apply a high pass filter on it, it makes seeing the focal plane much easier.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

canonloader...I load the image in DPP choose show photo box and then use the snipit tool that comes with W7 to capture that image as a jpeg.

I thought it needed screen capture to get it. I looked for twenty minutes one time and could not find a way to export the boxes. :)
