Last weekend I went with a 580EXll, and was really unimpressed with my results, so today I went back with the "Bees", 2 AB800's, and am happy, but still not satisfied. I had one on each side, one at the blue line, the other between the goal and blue line, bounced offf the ceiling. I realise I need at least 2 more to get the results I am after, but please C&C these photos:

A little blown out on my monitor. How much PP on these? Why no CWB? (EXIF say Auto)

What do the ones with the 580 EX II look Like?

Agree with Alan - whites look a tad hot. But you're showing faces nicely where you've captured them.

cheers

PP was done in LR2 and there are no red blinkies for blown out whites???
Yes, WB was Auto. The ones fronm the 580EXll, well the ice was brown, and not white, but the jerseys were exposed properly.

I'm gearing up to try some hockey too, just bought a couple white lightnings x1600's. I really like #5, seems about as good as one could do.

What iso did you shoot at?

Cheers,

Where did you point the Bees in relation to your targets?
Towards goals, center rink above blue line?
Anybody placing strobes behind goal like we do in BBall?

Dave - Fuzzy Hashing makes me itch.

whats the rink without flash, I am thinking you don't need it but hard to tell. If you can get 640 at 2.8 don't use artificial light.
