I never thought twice about having a weather sealed body until today. In fact I thought it was more hype than anything. However we went shopping for our Xmas tree today, and the white stuff was pouring down. My 5DMKII looked like it had a one inch layer of icing on it by the time I was finished! My point.. some things you never know you need until you REALLY need them! Got some decent shots. Still trying to clone some of the falling snow flakes out!

My little girl:

The 5DII is not weather sealed like the 1D bodies are. With that said, they can take a lot of "humidity" short of being in a big downpour or submerged, imo.

I've had ocean waves splash on mine more than once (bounced off my body as I was standing in the surf) and the camera is fine. Just wiped it down, later. My 40D has been snowed on also without any ill effect.

Sand is what scares me.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.
