Well, it sells on Ebay for $75-100 in working order....so I'm sure sending it to Canon for repair would not be cost effective.... Well....during the year I pick up cheap slr film gear and in Aug/Sept sell it cheap to high school kids/parents for their photo class....and if I could fix it/if it were user fixable, I'd buy it for them.... So if you disassembled it you could check if some gears have become stripped or misaligned. Lot of labor though, for a $50 lens. I might just snag some used Quantaray's on ebay if you want a basic 70-200 or 70-300 lens for a cheap price. It is not like the Canon lense we are taking about is upper echelon. Taylor
