I took this shot of an American Kestrel and cut off some of the wing tips. Is there any way to patch in the wing tips? I only have Elements 6. The shot was a jpeg.

All done in Elements 8 [But 6 would be identical to use].

Next clone in some new sky to fill the blank canvas. Then use a selection tool and copy the tips of the other wing as a new layer. Flip it 180 degrees vertically. Duplicate this two more times so that you have three "tip" layers. You can then manoeuvre each so that they approximately lie over where the tips should be. Next you need to mask or erase so that only the relevant tip lies over the missing area. These applied tips are too dark so you need to adjust the levels of each, I found adjusting the black output level to around 20 did the trick. Flatten and clone in any missing sky around the implanted tips and you should end up with something like the attached image. A bit more time and attention would yield a better result, this took around 10 minutes.
All done in Elements 8 [But 6 would be identical to use]. Well done, good work Regards Ray
