Adorama has been great to me.

Just an update to the situation.

Thanks to the prompt service of Helen my situation will be resolved as of tomorrow. I am 100% happy with the result. It was handled courteously in spite of my bad attitude.

I've caught a lot of crap on this thread for publicly bashing Adorama. It isn't the responsibility of the consumer to protect a companies reputation. That's up to the company and people like Helen. Where I was wrong was not giving them the opportunity to do so. I really regret taking this to such a public place, and especially one that is frequented by potential customers. I was wrong and I am man enough to admit that.

As Helen pointed out, I didn't take into account the time of year or the volume of customers/ornery people like me that they deal with during it. I was focused on my own situation as opposed to the entire scope of things. When it's in perspective it's actually remarkable how such large machine runs so smoothly this time of year.

I hope that anyone that reads this thread will give more attention to the positive experiences as opposed to my negative one. The answer to my thread title is "I drew a bad hand". Nothing more, nothing less.

I offer a public apology and my gratitude to Helen for dealing with me more than fairly. She had no duty to help me other than to recommend the usual customer service options. Instead she saw to it personally that the situation was laid to rest in a way that kept me happy.

Three cheers for the problem solved and kudos to you for coming on here and giving us the lowdown.

Its not how it starts that counts - its how it ends.

All's well that ends well - even if it takes a few mouthfuls of crow. Adorama have always been good to me.

Great.

Bought 2 used lenses from them and the only problem I've had is mustering up enough courage to purchase other lenses online sight-unseen from someone else... ;)

I'm still waiting on my other half to give me the 'go ahead and order them' so I can enjoy the great Adorama service everyone is talking about.

I really appreciate the follow-up, but it should be noted that Scott Brown in the Customer Service Team actually did the running around and liason with the warehouse to source the mising parts, and ensure that they would be shipped promptly. Glad it all worked out in the end:D

Glad it worked out and a definitely positive mark for Adorama b/c there are so many other companies out there that refuse to go that extra mile.

Hopefully Adorama is keeping tab of these issues and use this experience to improve their initial CS.

I recently bought an LG Plasma TV from 6th Avenue Electronics that was in an open box. It was missing some small hardware parts. The bad thing is, they sold it to me as a new item and I did not know it was an open box until I discovered the missing parts. Fortunately, they took it back, no questions asked, and replaced it with a new one that we inspected at the store, to be sure it had everything. I was pleased that they made good on it.

I would hope that if you contact Adorama, they'll make good on your complaint and get you the missing parts. If not, they should at least take it back and offer you a new, unoppened item, for a discounted price for your trouble.

I now avoid "open box" deals, to avoid the aggravation and inconvenience.

Good luck!

Obviously, you never read this thread through. Problem was solved by Adormama 5 posts back.

Adorama has always been good to me over the years. I just had an issue today with my paypal when I ordered some prints from them but John Peters of Adorama called me up and problem solved. Thats what I call great customer service and why I'll continue to shop there.
