What do you think of this shot?

I didn't really set it up or anything. I just set my camera on a bookshelf we have up there and took the shot. I like how it came out though.

If you like it, that's all that matters.

I wish we had an attic like this. I like this shot, it has just something about it that appeals to me.

Heh, I disagree with that statement :p

I feel the photo could be a bit more exposed; A lot of the attic is invisible in the blackness.

Here's what that section looks like lit up.

And here's the rest of the attic:

Still not quite done cleaning yet.

The photo is nice, though the first thing i though when seeing it was: man this light is aggressing my eyes! Now i am wondering if the same shot could not be taken from a lower angle, leaving out the window, and getting nly the light 's reflection on the floor and objects in the attic....
Again, nice photo!

I like it but the bright window is a bit overwhelming. I thought the most interesting thing in the attic is the picture hanging over the window, but unfortunately you can't see it.

I'll try again tomorrow and see what I can come up with.

Try putting a sheer curtain up in the window to cut the light.

I like the shot as is (should have said so earlier). I feel like I just walked into that attic and am waiting for my eyes to adjust to reveal the treasures hidden in the shadows.

You may want to try using a tripod and taking two shots, one with the lights on and one with them off. You can then layer the lit shot on top of the unlit and adjust it's opacity to adjust the amount of detail inside the attic in relation to the window. Personally, I would have liked a bit more light inside the attic. However, the floor looks great, I love the look of the wood. Cool attic :)

Thanks, I'll try that :D

And as for the wood, as far as I know, it's all original to the house, which was built back in the 1860s-1870s. It's an old house, but I love it. We even still have the original front door that was on the house with the original glass, though two panes are cracked.

I would actually arrange the one end with the old photo, to have only old items - no cardboard boxes with newer products NO plastic items. Maybe even look for a couple of old trench coats, or dresses to hang on the pipe. Take the shot when the light through the window isn't so bright. Keep shooting!

Okay! But now that cord in front of the picture needs to go. I think you got this correct otherwise. Nice job keeping at it.
