I was talking to someone today who was looking to supplement his wedding photography with a little video. He is not looking at getting into videography, but just something to supplement his pictures while doing a slideshow. He has a mac, and quite the selection of Canon cameras (1dmk3, a few 5dmk2's) but doesnt want to mess with all the settings/conversion of the video of the 5dmk2. Does anyone here do anything like that, where they can do a quick snippet of "what is your favorite part about your future husband" or "how did he propose" between your photo slideshow? I am interested in your thoughts on the best camcorder to do something like this, with a bit more quality than the flip camcorders.

Don't write off the small camcorders too quickly. For tape-based cameras, the Canon HV20/HV30/HV40 series offer amazing HD quality for very little money - there's a whole forum dedicated to them here... http://www.hv20.com/ (external link)

Canon also make more or less the same thing but with hard disk or flash storage - but I'm not up to speed with the various model numbers for these.

We've got an HV20 and the image quality constantly amazes me.
