Hi all
Thought this would be a good place to ask my question :

I have a photo that was taken with no flash at the time , the photo hasnt turned out great - mainly dark photo .
My question is this - can you get some kind of software or program that would inhance the picture as if it had been taken in full light?

reason i ask - Its a picture of my grandad who recently died - and i would like to have this photo ( yeah i know im dumb for not putting on the flash)

Depending on the image, some post processing could be done to enhance the image. There are definitely limitations, though. I am guessing that the image is a .JPG image. If it was shot in RAW, then it's likely that more could be done with it than with a .JPG image file.

Hi skip , thanks .
Im not a photographer - its just a picture i have taken with my mobile . At present when i try to view the photo its mainly all dark , all i would want to do would be to lift this darkness so i can see the people in it. Is this possible and if so how? I think its normally a jpeg image i see , how do i find out?

The problem w/ cell phone pics is that they are usually low quality.

Asysin - I think from what Chilly is saying even a bad quality cellphone pic would be better than none.

Chilly - there are many different programs that will enable you to do this. Unfortunately they either cost money (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro X2) or are difficult to use for beginners (GIMP).

If I were you though, I would try to take advantage of one of the free download trial periods for Photoshop or Paintshop Pro. Do your edit and then you can either delete the program or pay for continued use.

I've already spoke w/ Chilly and he's going to be sending me the pic when he gets off work.
