Well.it's ALL soft looking, there isn''t a part of the photo where I can set my eyes to and see anything sharp? Plus, the bottom corner is super busy, taking the eye from the tree to the corner.

Not really.sorry..too much sky.....perhaps a crop more of a pano would set this one. It is better than the first though.
I looked through your other posts about your photos.composition ranks high as the practice area. Its all good.just take your time , its a learning hobby every time you press that shutter, we all do it.;)

Even simply walking around, look at the object before you shoot.whats behind it that will not add to the photo.is it too dark> Too Light? Too uninteresting? Should I shoot landscape or portrait? Does it need another subject to balance it?

All these things you will start to look at...

Spend a lot of time on this forum looking at others images, and trying to figure out what you might do to make the shot better, or whether you understand the story that is being told with the image. Then read the c and c to see whether you caught the same things. after a few hundred of those, you will begin to critique before you even take a shot - you may notice that you don't have the main subject in the rule of thirds area - or you do, but the negative space is too much, etc.
