Tried warming up to this girl for a few min, after a while, she would allow me to take her picture, but never really got the ideal smile, but I think this picture works, and tells a story:

I did a bit of processing with the photo. Taken with 7D, 50mm prime, f2.0, 1/100, ISO 1250

I would play with the colors a bit and see if you can get better separation between the girl and the background.

Cute picture. As with my daughter, it's the "Why is daddy obssesed with taking pictures of me?" look.

There's no real "pop" in the image. I'd try a curves adjustment layer to see if you can get more contrast between her skin tones/clothes and the background.
