Just another bump for Diamondback batteries for my 30D. Fit right in, charged fine, have not run through both of them yet...but so far...good stuff...cheap price!!

Diamondbacks work great here. Threw on some battery covers from greenbatteries.com and I'd call them better than the original Canon's.

I bought my generic XSi/450D batteries off eBay from this Seller: http://stores.ebay.com/candyhk168 (external link)

I bought a set of two batteries on 5/1/2008 for $30.48 shipped. Today you can get it from the same seller for $14.48 shipped. vmad

Here's a pic from the eBay auction: http://i2.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/ea/07/b063_10.JPG (external link)

Look around eBay. I've seen new ones with 1500mAh and even 2000mAh. This seller has a set of two 2000mAh for about $21 shipped: http://stores.ebay.com/sellbuz (external link)

Just ordered 2 sterlingteks and the crappy charger (was only a few bucks extra)

Hopefully they alleviate the battery discharge issues I'm having with the 40D/85L lol

What's wrong with $16? Canon ones are some silly price, $100 in stores here. I use Sterlingtek, they work great and I can't run out a pair of them in a gripped 40D at a wedding.

Nothing is wrong with 16 bucks, unless the explode in your camera.

I agree with the first part 100%.... the rest is unwarranted considering the research/volume of sales here on POTN that has gone into some of these 3rd party brands. I love comments like this, as if 3rd party batteries are always the problem, when in the last year or so, there have been more name-brand incidents for laptops, etc.

I used a single sterlingtek 2000 mh in the Serengeti on my 30D and got 900+ shots before I pulled it. I was glad to have it as they lost my suitcase with my extra batteries and used the one in the camera for 2 days before my suitcase showed up. I was worried I'd run out of battery, but all was good.

Could be a bad battery. Does the same thing happen with other batteries? If other batteries are ok send the bad one back to SterlingTek and they'll replace it for you. I had one bad cell from ST out of the 20 or so i've ordered, they replaced it.

That's odd... contact them and see if you can get it replaced.

Has anyone , over the years, found where to buy the little plastic covers?
I could use a half-dozen.

Sterlingtek sent me some for free when I asked for them with one order. I also got some from a local store free, they say some people just take the battery and leave that and the packaging behind when they buy a new battery.
