I'll check that out with the local store.
If anyone has some they want to re-cycle, let me know.

Funny, I was thinking about that the other day too as I was wondering which batteries were fully charged.

So a little googling and I found this: http://www.greenbatteries.com/303-0070605111.html (external link)

Just get some rolls of colored electrical tape. Tape over the contacts, and write the date that you charged the battery. Rip it off when you're ready to use the battery. One roll of tape will last a long time, and is about the same price as one cover. If you're leaving the tape on long enough that the sticky residue is coming off, you should count the battery as discharged anyway.

One less loose accessory floating around when you are in an on location shoot.

Anyone had issues with import taxes from Stirlingtek to the UK? Need some more batts for the 400d/XTi, and like the sound of these bad boys! Failing that does anyone rate a good UK based batts supplier for the 400d? -- Starabo

Sterling Tek Inc. Phone Number is 1-877-742-1700. They are based in Las Cruces New Mexico here in the US. Hope this helps. I order all my camera batteries from them. I recently ordered 2 batteries and one was not taking a charge. I contacted them via email and the sent me two batteries to make up for one bad one. They are great to deal with so I wish you luck.

Anyone ever use the SterlingTEK chargers? Do they work? Are they reliable? Are they quick? I've been going thru this thread and no one seems to say anything about their chargers. Thanks.

I bought an AC adaptor for my Apple iBook from Diamondback (much cheaper than the Apple) and a battery and charger for my "other" brand DSLR from Overstock. The Overstock charger actually lasted longer than my original "other" brand charger. I'm happy with all three.

Yes, either charger will handle any BP511-type battery. However, the Sterlingtek also has a car adapter and will serve as a flashlight when a battery's in place.

Hi all, this is my first post here - sorry it's a moan :)

I ordered two NB-2LH from Sterlingtek which arrived today. One of them charges fine, but not the other. When I put it in the original Canon charger the light comes on orange for about a second then goes off again - nothing I can do makes it stay on.

Anyone else had this from Sterlingtek?

Is there any point in leaving the battery in the charger with the light off?

If I sit here all night repeatedly pushing the battery into the charger for a second at a time, what are my chances of eventually getting enough charge into it for the light to stay on?

Am I just unlucky??

I needed these batteries for a month in Sardinia - leaving Monday, so too late to sort it out now. Oh well, guess I'll just have to get by with the two.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Yup, that's why I switched to Diamondback. 8 batteries later & no problems.:D

Yep just unlucky. I've bought about 30 batteries from SterlingTek over the past few years, some for me some for others, i've had one faulty. Given the price that's pretty good performance in my opinion.

Give them a call, they'll replace it, though you haven't probably left enough time to sort out problems.

Yet again we see the dangers of ordering equipment just before you need it.
