I just got my first DSLR today. It's the Canon 50D. I'm upgrading from my Fujifilm S5200 point and shoot. I can't open my Canon yet though, because it was supposed to be a Christmas present and according my husband wasn't supposed to arrive at our house until January because he thought it was on backorder. Oh well.. only 10 days to wait. :D Until then I'll be reading all the great photography info on this forum then I'll flood you all with pictures.

Ahhhh, it's painful enough for stuff to ship let alone to stare at it. May I suggest your sneak the battery and the charger out of it so you'll be ready to go x-mas morning :) I won't tell Santa!

Congrats!

merlin offers excellent advice. ;)

I think you're the first person I've seen with Tehachapi as their location. I've seen a Ridgecrest and one other person whose location was more generic but I think they are up near Bishop.

My wife and I buy each other Christmas present all year round and allow each other to open them immediately.... This sounds like a ground for divorce based on mental cruelty to me....

Congrats!

Thanks so much! ^_^

I wanna open it and charge it, but it's still 10 days away.. maybe I'll wait for a while. I'll be too tempted to take it out and start shooting right away, as in right now. :D It's sitting right next to me, in the shipping box.

Thank you!! ^_^ Haha.. I'm thinking of opening it and charging it up, but Christmas is still 10 days away though.

Haha :D I'm seriously thinking about following it too. ;)

Really?? I always put my exact city because it's always fun to meet up with friends from forums who like similar stuff.

Welcome to the wide world of Canon DSLRs. Have fun, take lots of pictures, enjoy the moments and try not going broke buying lenses as your interests and skills improve.
