Beware of SCAMs at ebay

I "sold" my backup camera trought ebay. Here is the message I just got. They want me to send the camera to NIGERIA before I receive the payment.

Wow, where have you been for the last five years???

Now here is an irony: When I tried to cancel my paypal account I had to deal with people that had a middle eastern dialect. Yet, the Corporate Offices for Paypal are on a Missouri Univerity Campus? Now that is quite strange!

Needless to say - DON"T SHIP ANYTHING TO NIGERIA!!!

well. I HATE those acts of people who trying to scam people here. I have many false hope on selling my gears. and at the end they will spam you to death. I HATE THEM

I pretty much stoppped selling on ebay. I had one item where I got deadbeat buyers three times in a row. Forget it.

This does remind me of that story where the guy gets scammed like this but keeps the scammer going and ends up sending him a binder with a "painted" on keyboard. The beauty was he marked it as having a value of 2K and the scammer had to pay taxes on it before he was able to pick up the package. I'll have to try and find a link.

ebay is truly a flea market online, very interesting scam stories.

I'm selling my 70-200mm 2.8 IS right now and someone e-mailed me asking "if I win this auction, could you set the sale price to $39?" What the hell kind of joke is this? Apparently it worked on some fool or else they wouldn't keep doing it all the time.

Can't you limit sales to your own country? I sell through eBay regularly but only within Australia. Here eBay gives me that option.
