Yeah I know it's old as ----!
It's been with me since my film days.
It's worked on every Canon Camera I have ever owned.
I never used it much and lost the paperwork and such that was with it.
Like to know what I can expect for a reach in auto mode with my modern SX20? 20 Feet?

Anyone have the orginal specs or Paperwork for one of these?
IIRC it dates back to 1980?
(Or point me somewhere online where I can download)

Yes I test fired it on my Canon SX20 IS and it works!

That table on the back gives its performance specs; looks like it has two "Auto" ranges, yellow and green, as well as Manual, selected by the switch on the back and with ranges shown by the bars over the performance chart.
The chart itself probably has a line for each principal ISO (100, 200, 400) and a column for the corresponding distance. Each cell would then contain the aperture to use for that ISO and distance. In Auto mode, you'd choose the cell for your ISO that falls under the far end of the colour bar for the Auto mode you've set the flash to use. You'd set ISO and aperture manually on your camera; you could either use Av and let the camera choose a shutter speed appropriate to the ambient light (which may lead to issues with slow shutter) or manually set aperture and shutter speed (use around 1/60 - 1/125 sec. to ensure flash sync).

Looks like it may have a tilt head - if you use one of the Auto modes with the head tilted, open up two f-stops from the indicated to allow for light loss in bouncing.

So even tho it is old as Moby Dick  it'll still sync with my SX20?

Well I retract that statement.....the Auto Ok never lights up on Flash.
Just the Ready light..... so I'm guessing it's a full 20ft blast.
It does fire when I pop a frame so it's jiving some how with the camera.

Lil better pic of the scale on back.

Try setting it to Green and taking a shot at f/2.8, ISO 100 and 10 ft. Then at f/5.6 and Yellow at the same distance. If they're comparable exposures then it's just the "Auto OK" light that's not working. If the first is overexposed, then the flash is no longer working properly in Auto mode and you'll have to use the table on the back to determine which aperture to use for your subject distance. The flash assumes you've set the correct aperture on the camera; it just measures how brightly the subject seems to be lit up (a simple center-weighted averaging meter calculation) and dumps any remaining charge from the capacitor.
