17-40 L, since you already have a 24-70 in your lineup. you could get some ultra-wide shots with it on the 5d's

Considering you already have the 24-70L, which IMO is a great lens and prefer it over the 24-105L, I say go with the wide 17-40L on your 5D mark II.

I was just throwing something out but when I saw you had a 5D, definitely think about what works great with that... ;)

Looking at your lens list, neither one.

...Unless you are thinking of replacing some of what you've already got?

Your "weakest" focal length range is in the areas a 70-200 or maybe even a 100-400 would cover. Of course, maybe you just don't use those focal lengths.

17-40 on full frame is great. Its a nice lens on a crop body, but shines on full frame.

I wonder if I pick that one up, would there be any sense of really keeping the Tammy then, I picked up the tammy because it was super sharp and a 2.8 but I dunno now.

I'm waiting for the guy who is selling the 17-40 to get back to me.
He was going to let it go for $450 because he wants to use the money towards another lens. He had it for about a year.

And a friend of mine is selling his 24-105 for 800 so I'm just debating on the prices and also the deals. My limit is $1200 for both lens, maybe I could fit them both in if I throw in another buck fifty

If I were you I wouldn't duplicate the function of the 24-70 but would look to upgrade from the 75-300 with one of the incarnations of the 70-200, the f4 IS if you can find one in your price range.

Yes I like the 70-200. I used it at a wedding last week, it was nice. I might get that one.

The part that kind of sucks is that I cant use my 17-35 on my ff
