New Sigma 530 DG Super stuck at 17mm

Has anyone experience of this or got any tips to fix it?

The wide angle adapter seems fine, but regardless of the position (in or out) the flash zoom stays at 17mm and pressing the zoom button has no effect.

It is looking like I might have to send it back, but just hoping otherwise as it was bought online (Amazon UK) and so with Christmas I will be looking at next year before getting a replacement.

No real clue as I don't have one, but I would try:

1) Holding in the zoom button and see if that allows the setting to blink and be changed.

2) Tilt the flash head at different angles and see if that fixes the issue. I believe some flashes have a fixed zoom if they are tilted downward (the one tiny click below head-on flash).

Push the wide panel all the way back in to allow the zoom function to work.

It is in as far as it will go, but with no effect on the zoom setting stays at 17mm. Likewise holding down the zoom button or changing angle.

Looks like I will need to arrange a return and exchange.

I forgot to mention:
It will only autozoom when pointed straight forward. In other positions it will autozoom to 50mm regardless of lens focal length but manual zoom should work.

Sounds like you could have a faulty unit.
