If I had gotten the angle right, this would have come out nicely...

Very nice, Kody!

No, let's please stick with monochrome. I love good b&w photos, I just don't have the eye for choosing them in my own images. I made the above image B&W at the suggestion of thebugster lol

QUOTED IMAGE

maybe shoot the building wider, then do an adjustment in photoshop to correct the angle.

I like that too Harm. It's hard without a tilt shift lens to get something like that perfectly.

Wow, never seen those before, beautifully composed...Jim & Zane look too relaxed, whilst Cat is just soaking in the surroundings - the joys of being on a holiday!!!

Keep monochrome, I love the pics, it's just that i do so little with it because.. well... I suck at monochrome. ;) But here is another train one from me. My attempt at mono-grunge. :)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Jay that's a great conversion. Do you mind sharing your steps?

Simply a B&W "knockdown" in LR.

- Change from Color to Monochrome
- Lower the Blues (darkens skies as well as adds contrast to shiny subject through reflected blue skies.)
- Raise the Oranges a little (we get good reflective light off airport ramps and desert dirt .. this one also had some on-camera fill flash at work.)
- IIRC, there's about a 10% "Tan" tint to the highlights and a similar value of "Blue" tint to the shadows via the Split Toning sliders.
- Sharpen "Aggressively" 50 / 1 / 40 / 0 to really get the panel lines and rivets to pop.

I don't have an "actionable" formula per se. I just tweak 'till I'm happy. :D
