Neat! Where did you see that?

I think I just stuck my neck out... The Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo, CA is looking for a volunteer editor for their newsletter. It's currently published bi-monthly, but they are looking to go monthly.

I've been a member of the museum for the last year and was thinking about volunteering in some capacity anyway. I just sent them an e-mail indicating I was interested in the job...

Nothing Ventured and all that...

Good on you for wanting to help them out.

Wish we had something other than the CAF where I could get my hands dirty on classic aircraft (although I'm told our AZ Wing is much less political than many/most Commemerative Air Force posts.) Really wish they hadn't sold off the Champlin collection to the MoF in Seattle.

I received an e-mail back from the current temporary editor. He sounds all enthused about my volunteering, so I guess I'm in. He does have to submit it to the board, but I really don't think that will be a problem. It means I'm going to being spend a bit of time at the museum talking to people and taking pictures.

Tough job, but someone has to do it...

Yeah. I'm glad I was able to see them before they went North. I've got some slides of the aircraft somewhere that I should get scanned...

Is Pima too far for you to go?

If you lived here, there's three places you could volunteer, the local CAF Wing, the USS Midway Museum or the San Diego Air and Space Museum.

Pima is far too far. 'Bout two hours one way...

I could live in Tucson though. It has a lot more "charm" (not to mention better scenery) than Phoenix.
