I thought the 4 states were animal, vegetable or mineral. ;)

I thought they were Oregon, Almost Oregon, Wants To Be Oregon and California.

True matter doesnut have they made h2o plasma yet O_o

Any matter can be made into a plasma. Plasma is just a state where the matter is so excited (hot) that the electrons lose their attachment from the nucleus. What you have is a giant, wild electron cloud and a bunch of protons/neutrons all gathered together. When it cools down to the gas state the electrons will gather up - some atoms will be left in a strange state and become reactionary but it does even out. Example objects that are 100% plasma: stars. Ever thought about how many different minerals are in stars? Normally you'd just think a giant hydrogen fusion reaction as that's what's going on, but there are other elements/compounds in there. ;)

Fun fact: Estimates put over 99.999% of the universe as being in the plasma state. Another one that's almost entirely plasma: nebulae. ;)

Edit: At ground pressure water turns into plasma at approx 14,000 kelvin. Now if only I had a lab where I could superheat water to that temperature!

Seems like it would be easier to do than 14000 kelvin eh? :D

Yeah...I think if you hook a Dyson up to your toaster oven....you should be able to get the desired result.

Might not be funny if you're not interested in physics stuff, but I find it hilarious. :p

Cat Health News!

Vet got the pathology report back and every indication points to a form of Inflamatory Bowel Disease that should be treatable with steroids and diet tweaking! All else is clean...

Needless to say, we're very relieved!! :D

AWRIGHT!!!!

Hang in there, it's gonna be OK.

Shelter Cove is quite the out-of-the-way place, isn't it? I took a look at the map and that's a cool looking road going in. Looks very MC friendly...

I'd love to get back up in that part of the state again. If my wife was a bit more competent rider, I'd seriously think about packing up the bikes and heading out...

Definitely out of the way, and great fun.

But seriously: I would never lead an inexperienced rider down into Shelter Cove.

There are two mountain ridges and both have very steep and challenging roads going west. The eastern ridges are more gradual.

It's not so bad coming out - riders are much more comfortable with a steep uphill road than a steep downhill one.

When Patrick and I rode down into Shelter Cove five years ago we had just missed a very, very heavy storm. The road was wet, slippery and strewn with debris. There were tar snakes everywhere, snapping at our tires.

There were two or three cars in the ditches.

I'm comfortable riding my SV 650 downhill when it's slippery and twisty. I'm very good with my brakes.

So is Patrick, a very experienced racer.

We agreed that we wouldn't have tried that road, that time, with anyone else.

In the summer it's much less treacherous.

And very beautiful!

I should have grabbed a spare gallon when I told the wife I bought the 500!

Much happier here as of this afternoon. Damn cat is already back to jumping up on things! Amazing really when you consider he was practically slit like a trout just three days ago!

We were worried sick and now he's just scaring us!

...I'll make it easier for you, JJ:

1. Select your photo
2. Add New Layer - Make sure the setting is on Transparent......
...
...
I don't know if it is all the same in Photoshop, but that is the method I know for Gimp2

Works pretty much the same in Photoshop. I tried a couple tonight. Clearly I have to work at it a bit more.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.
