Some of us... As I rise from a dead sleep and awake to an 18% grey day here in the valley.

It's almost allways 18% gray here. Sometimes the 18% gray comes all the way to the ground.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Bummer! I just replaced our laptop fall of last year. Our 6 year old Toshiba was starting to have issues. While we have other PCs in the house the laptop is our most used since we can browse while watching TV. I know the feeling! Hope it gets fixed soon!

You laugh, but in my clock-challenged world, that's on the cusp of "All Nighter" ;)

Heh! The way my nights and days have been going, it sounds like you and I have similar schedules:)!

My daughter alerted me to an interesting event here in town yesterday, so we packed our camera gear and headed out into a light rain...

It was a group that has gotten attention in the country by spreading a message of hate at funerals and such -- don't want to go into particulars because of the religios and political aspect of things, but it was interesting, because seven of them were staging the "event" and there were probably 200 or more locals on the "other side" (literally, kept by sheriffs on the other side of the street), including a lot of high school kids (they were targeting this high school) and a good time was being had by all on the "local" side of the street:).

Anyway, we got about 250 photos from the event. I haven't waded into them but due to the sensitive subject matter (some of the signs across the street were, well, pretty ugly) I probably will just post some on PBase but not here. But, it was an interesting occasion, quite a different "spirit" from the Memorial Day ceremony I was at on Monday...

Yeah, laptops disturb me -- I've never opened one up and even tried to figure out what ails it and assume I'd need to wade into electronic circuits and such and it's been too long since I did any circuit troubleshooting/repair, and I hate to just pay a bunch of bucks out...

So, now I have a cheap $500 laptop and my good $2k laptop is sitting needing repair as well as two others owned by my daughter and grandson...until I feel like spending another $500 or so on repairs, oh well...

Wow, I've always thought it would be cool to get close enough to a twister to get shots!

In fact, just two or three years ago we had a twister go through town here, right through a business center. I was stuck a ways out of town when I heard about it and wished I had been closer. Just close enough to get some shots...
