I'll have to check. That would be a good perspective. I was in rush mode due to frostbite setting in(-18F), and the fact that I had dropped my camera when I was setting up!!! Not the best of outings. Thankfully no damage to body or lense.

This is why I wake up very early on vacation, piss everyone off, get some nice sunrise photos and then back to sleep.
(Both photos taken at Myrtle beach SC)

This the closest I got to having the sun directly behind the ice. In hindsight, I wish I had shot a few like you suggested.
