Anyone have this lens on a crop body? thinking of picking one up, but I'm not sure if it's worth it on a crop. I know it wonderfull on FF.

Anyone have any sample images from a 1.6 crop body?

Thanks

There's some shots in the lens sample thread: https://photography-on-the.net …hread.php?t=624911&page=2

I think half way down page 2 are some shots from a 50D...probably more somewhere in the thread but I'm not looking out of fear of lusting after a $2k lens. :)

Cool thanks, Actually I went through that whole thread and missed those as I thought they where all from the 5D but now I see the 50D ones. Thanks for the link to those.

It looks like the crop really doesn't do this lens justice compared to on a FF body.

DAMN... Now i have to go buy 5D MkII.

If anyone has any opinions on their 14mm on a crop. I'd love to hear them.

Thanks

Lol, that's as good of a reason as any to go FF :)

Yea, the angle of view you get on a 1.6x crop body is equivalent to a 22-23mm lens on a FF, and that's a BIG difference on the wide end.

If you're a crop shooter, you're much better off buying the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8. Unless you like tossing money down the drain.
