Could someone with true understanding of noise properties in DSLR, namely Canon branded ones, offer correct logic on the subject of noise and banding? Saying that pixel density is the cause of noise is not true and I weary of seeing posts on the subject but I don't have the understanding to refute and there are no official links to post as reference.
The logic in these two posts are playing themselves out to be true. But yet the major forums: POTON, DPReview, and others are filled with armchair engineers saying different with official Canon/Nikon reps always silent on the subject.
What are your educated thoughts?
