18-55mm IS (maximum sharpness)

Does anyone know at what aperature the 18-55 IS is at it's sharpest?


Canon R5 - Canon RF24-105L F4, Canon 40mm, Canon 70-200L F4 (non-IS), Canon 100-400ii, 1.4xiii

edit: it's 5.6 at all points throughout 18-55

I thought it was usually around 8

IMO from most accounts including the below review indicated by the "Blur Index" tests the sweet spot is 35mm at F5.6 :

best sharpness is at 35mm f - 8- f11
if you need more info about this lens please see below

18 mm- high CA and distorsion, resolution ok- good
24 and 28 mm- less distorsion but high CA- resolution good- very good
35mm - the best focal range from this lens- CA low- medium, ZERO distorsion- resolution very good
55mm- CA low - medium , distorsion low, resolution very low ( and vers slow only 5,6)

IS and AF are ok

lowlights- ratation front elements and useless manual focus ring

for the money is SUPER !
