I'm shootting a pretty important swim meet today. I wasn't able to setup good setting, meter off a grey card, and stuff the last time I shot because I was in a rush. This time, I want to get it right.

I've recently been messing around with exposure bracketing and didn't know if it would help or hinder. I also didn't know if using IS mode 2 would help or not with the starts.

I'm open to any other tips or advice you have to give.

I'm shooting with a Canon 1D Mark II and Canon 70-200 IS, most likely shooting in Av at f/2.8.

If it is an indoor swim meet, lighting should be constant. So figure out a good exposure (histogram!!) before the meet, and shoot in M so you don't have to worry about exposure bracketing. Shoot RAW to give yourself some flexibility if your exposure is slightly off. Exposure bracketing would hinder your shooting here.

Thanks for the advice! I always shoot RAW to give myself a little wiggle room.

Any advice on the IS or no IS situation?

Wow, you've got almost exactly the same gear that I have! Cool!

Anyway, you're shooting from the sides right? Use mode 2 if you're gonna pan. If you're gonna shoot head on, use mode 1.

Yeah, I'll be doing a little bit of both. I'm just trying to improve upon these shots I took a little bit ago.

The focus was off on the second one. I was in AI Servo, and it got confused by the water and flipped out.
