I need sort of a very fast education on remote triggers that will work with either a 30d or a IIn (the IIn is more likely to be used - as I feel I will probably use a 16-35 gift coming from hubby).

My mother-in-law is of very advanced age, and her health is rapidly declining. She's not hospitalized, and is home with us, and the family kind of feels this might the last holiday with her. So we're hoping for a family shot with me in it. Luckily I finally achieved a tripod a few weeks ago, so that's good.

Any information on remote triggers and getting this shot right, would be very appreciated. Counting myself, this would be a group of 12 people in total.

Thanks.

Pat

Perhaps it was a result of anxiety.

G'day Pat...ive had 2 of these over maybe 4 odd years (stood on my old one) and they work over hundreds of feet...fire through walls ...i can say enough about them. That price is almost free. (not sure of the exchange rate but maybe $18 USD with free del)

I would be lost without it.

you could also use the 10 sec timer if this is the only use you have for a trigger.

How does it work at the support store? Are the items brand new or used? Does anyone have one of these wireless remotes and are they good quality. I am looking to purchase one for my Canon 50d......any help would be appreciated...Thanks! :)

They're new, and they work. I have one of the wireless and a couple of the wired.

Thanks! How far away can you be from the camera with the wireless?

Haven't tried for a max. distance; I've gone anyhow 20-30 ft. Just don't let the camera go to sleep or you'll lose the first shot since that just goes to wake it up..
