Was a great night, and I got some privileges for being official photographer ;)

A few guys also decided to name me 'Nikon'... I was deeply offended.

Anyway here's a few shot's I got, had to push the 7D to ISO 5000/6400, as you can tell it's pretty dark. Also a bit soft, had to go f1.8

But thanks for looking! Any tips I'd love, as I'm hoping to do more of this kind of work in the future.

Was the above a wedding or family gathering? There is another thread for other events.

Only suggestion: learn how to drag the shutter and use flash for "night club" type shots
however, you didnt do bad. Shots look pretty solid for being all ambient.

Urban life is where we decided this should go.

Okay thanks, POTN should have a section just for events other than family stuff :p

Yeah I had a 550ex with me, didn't use it that much 'cause photo's with people we in demand so often, It took too much time to set up each shot.

I dont understand what your saying, it could be that im used to crappy Oklahoma vernacular, ....

With the 550ex you should have been able to put it in ettl and second curtain sync, turn it straight up at the ceiling and shoot some very slow shutter speeds without a wide aperture or noticeable noise.

Look up the "night club photos" thread on here, lots of info and talent in there.

Well I did in AV mode, but exposure wasn't all that reliable so It seemed better to use manual, hence couldn't be bothered to set up each shot.

The nighclub shots weren't that important, kinda 'cause it wasn't a nightclub ;) but people just wanted some pics of them with their friends.
