...to fit the 10D/D30/D60 cams....?

I've read elsewhere that it can't be done:

...and yet, I recall someone here saying they did it and it worked...

Please remind me how....

Thanks....

you can modify any ef-s lens to work on 10D. You just need to remove the baffle that is in the back.

I saw some Canon technicians did that and it was very easy.

One thing you need to know, is, that on some EF-S glass and on some camera bodies, the mirror will hit the rear lens element.

The issue with the IS kit lens is the IS wiring and whether removing the baffle will disrupt/destroy it....
I've modded the earlier version myself, but SOMEone here said the new one could be done too...
and I'm trying to remember who....

The rear mount should not be connected to the IS system. In all EF and EF-S lenses, the contacts are separate from the mount.

Here's how my pre-IS version conversion turned out...
...after removing the baffle, filling the cavity with epoxy, shaving it off with a fine tooth hacksaw blade and putting it back on to protect the electronics.....others have bought an EF baffle to simply replace the removed EF-S baffle....probably cost little more than the epoxy and blade....

I finally found a photo showing the wiring in the back of the 18-55 IS mount. It does appear as though it would cause a problem. It might still be possible to mod the mount to work on a 10D, but it will not be as easy as the non-IS version.
