I need someone to help me with this. My new 5d2 when paired up with my 50mm 1.2 or my 85mm1.2 now is offering me this bizarre band of yellowness on sporadic images. I haven't noticed it on every image or other images with different lenses. I have attached the link to the pic here for you to review. Is this shutter failure or some other weird problem?

HELP!

I should also say that no flash was used in this photo.

Were you shooting by the light of a Compact Flourescent Bulb here?

I was and wondered if that was my issue. How do you avoid this? My 24-70 has never had this problem! Is it the prime?

Try to keep your shutter speed relatively low and at multiples of 1/60 (the light cycles at 1/60). You want to use 1/30, 1/60, 1/120...something like that.

It has nothing at all to do with the lens in use, and everything to do with the use of fluorescent lighting and the shutter speed employed.

... or a linear. Looks just like the example in Glen Johnson's wedding book.

Ya know its crazy, but I kinda like that one.
A little more tweaking and you could make that totally look like an old scan with that damaged look.

I know you dont want this in all your photos of course, who would? But a couple like this could make for a neat mini set to make it seem like an old album in one section.

Good luck with the lights.

Also, you probably already know this, but making the photo a B&W photo takes care of the cast for you, so the photo isnt a loss.
