Well, ok. Must be nice to have the cash to be able to do that whenever. :p

Yes, I'm very grateful to not have to be concerned about money. Especially when it comes to enjoying something as expensive as photography.

DES? Something to do with windows not allowing a certain program to open if it thinks it's dangerous.

No.... It's DEP, not DES.

I think I fried my laptop and I dont' even know what I did. :(

Firefox wouldn't open. Kept getting closed down.
So I clicked the help box, and it said that windows was preventing it from opening.
I googled the message, and read some help tips.
One of them was to go to into the command prompt and put in a command to make it so that windows wouldn't recognize firefox as a 'threat'. Or something like that. LOL.

Now windows won't start at all.

And I don't even remember what the command was, because I copied and pasted it.

DEP is data execution prevention and you shouldn't have to do anything with it. I'm not sure how to pit it back to normal.

When Firefox gets hung like that and won't kick off, Hit ctrl-alt-delete and start the task manager or you can right click on the task bar and kick off the task manager from there. Click on the processes tab and look for a firefox.exe. If it's there, right click on it and kill by clicking on the end process.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Actually, it's from a painting by Delacroix depicting the French Revolution...

Restarting my computer had no effect.

I think you're referring to Eugene Delacroix' "La Liberte Guidant Le Peuple" It's not Joan D'Arc but a part of the French mythos, "Marianne".

This:

is a cut from this:

which is a spoof of the aforementioned Delacroix work, found HERE (external link)

Cool!

^^That
Hopefully you do Cat. If so, put the boot or recovery disc in the drive and let it run. First try to REPAIR Windows...otherwise you'll have to reinstall. Heck, it could be coincidence that maybe you have some sort of hardware failure or even a virus that just will not let Windows start up.
