It wasn't hanging up. It wouldn't start at all, saying that DEP was preventing it from opening.
Restarting my computer had no effect.

I've had Firefox leave stuff behind that would cause FF to not start. Cleaning up the process would clear that and FF would then behave normally.

I just checked one of my XP machines and DEP is set to alwaysoff in my boot.ini file. the line looks like
/noexecute= AlwaysOff

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

When Firefox gets hung like that and won't kick off, Hit ctrl-alt-delete and start the task manager or you can right click on the task bar and kick off the task manager from there. Click on the processes tab and look for a firefox.exe. If it's there, right click on it and kill by clicking on the end process.

I have to do this sometimes....Firefox always tells me that an instance is already running....which prevents startup. I have to kill the process at that time.

Weird....the arrow keys on my keyboard just stopped working
Cat? Are you getting my computer sick also? :p
Maybe I just need to replace the batteries already.

Yeah, I frequently have to kill firefox in the task manager.

I really did read up on it a bit before turning off the DEP.. Wonder why turning it off would kill my computer?

And the only reason I was on my laptop, is because my stupid freaking desktop is still sick, and won't upload stuff to youtube or photobucket and a few other places.

I was trying to upload video of Trudy to YouTube.

Then all THIS crap started.

*sigh*

I suck.

I wonder if I can string up a hammock from the rafters in my basement so I can sleep down there in my new studio setup...

You know, now that you mention it....I've not been able to upload video to Youtube in months already. That's why I did the Vimeo video the last time. I couldn't figure out why I could not upload.

Sure, why not.....but that would be bordering on obsessive. Next you'll be sleeping with your camera clutched in your arms  :p

If I hadn't of wasted 2 hours of my life looking for backdrop material I could share the greatness with you that is my new studio. But now I'm too pooped to go to the basement and take pictures.

I've always wanted a hammock though... perhaps a pina colada as well? Inflatible palm trees? Yes please.

So far FF on win7 seems much better. I had FF lock up like that in XP at least once a week

I did find this one page. Maybe it might help
