My property in NY is a heavily wooded hardwood stand....lots of tops down as a result of timber harvests....I just can't envision anyone trying to get through there on skis. There aren't any logging roads....our timber contract prohibits them....last harvest most of the skidding was done by a pair of Belgians.

Ya know, if you'd every like guests....do you get to watch the Belgians work?

Whoops, sorry, had a chore I had to take care of.

Yes, she made it by falling on her butt before she hit it. I've been trying to teach her how to turn on x-skis but she prefers the butt slide to a stop method.

WHEW! I'm glad she was able to butt-stop.

tis curl up in the recliner, wrapped in a blanket sipping irish coffee and read my book day Catch you all later!

That sounds lovely! I've got a blanket, roaring fire and knitting AND my kids passed out...so I can't complain either. Life is pretty dang good (as long as you ignore the messes that I should be tidying).

One of the greatest parts of being a grandparent....being able to hand a child with a dirty diaper back to the proud parents.

While I don't doubt this, I honestly hope to wait many years to find out...at LEAST 18 more maybe.

Puppy kisses are a good thing....helps a baby boost their immune system!

BLECH. :-| I do not like them, despite liking many other facets of dog ownership.

*jealous*

I'm miffed at the sun at the moment. It was a crucial component of a shot I had planned and now it is behind clouds.

LOL sorry. Hope it comes back out to play.

Lasagna came out VERY good!! I use about 6 tablespoons of ricotta and I mix it in with the tomato sauce, did layers of the kielbasa and next with spinach, lots of mozzarella and a little parmigiano on top, couldn't find the sockarooni so I use Mrs. Dash hot and spicey mixed in with the cheese, yummy!!

*calculates how long it would take to get to Crissa's* Is there an Amtrak station near you?

We bought an LG washer/dryer set a couple years ago, and have been generally pleased with them until all of a sudden the dryer started shutting off before the clothes were dry. I suspect it's something in the electronics, and not mechanical. Anyway, I called a repairman, but because of the holidays, he couldn't come for almost two weeks. I figured out a workaround in the meantime, and we decided we couldn't justify spending a bunch of money fixing the dryer when there was another way to get it to work. We canceled the repairman.

Talking to various repairmen, I'm told that LG appliances have decent quality, but parts are hard to get. There are no authorized LG repair people in our area, so we have to deal with Sears whether we want to or not. They were the only ones who said they'd work on it.

The washer/dryer we had before this was a Maytag Neptune, and it was a POC. It had to be repaired 4 times in 2 years for the same problem, and was the subject of a class action lawsuit. Of course Maytag has filed bankruptcy, and is no longer in business. I guess the Maytage repairman is really lonely these days.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

We have 3 machines in the laundry room, 2 'new' maytag front loaders and an old maytag top loader. The front loaders are 1.75 to use, the top loader is 1.25 and works just as well if not better than the front loaders! It was a front loader that didn't spin my stuff correctly, I moved it over to the top loader after wasting my 1.75.

The biggest pain in the tush is it messes up my timing for the dryers and I need to get this stuff done before 7 as I have to be at my moms to help her get my dad into bed as there are no aides on the weekends.

?

They let people watch the Belgians work. We have a meeting later this month and I can see when the next harvest cycle is...I think we are probably 4-5 years out now.

18 sounds like a good number.

What a grouch....puppy kisses never caused anyone to melt. sheeeesh  :lol:

Perhaps being miffed at the clouds would be more beneficial. ;)

True that.

<----froze her ass....not off unfortunately....it's still there.

CRISSA that sucks and blows. But, at least you have laundry in your building and don't have to schlep your stuff to a laundromat.

Sometimes if I get really far behind in my laundry duties I will go to the laundramat so I can do it all in one fell swoop. If I do it really late here I can sometimes get all 3 washers and then dryers, but not on a Sunday afternoon/evening.
