We have nothing like that going on here, but they are forecasting rain for the next few days. If it follows true to form, most of the rain will fall in the mountains near here, and we'll stay relatively dry.

There's even a chance of a thunderstorm, but they never seem to get close to us.

Goodnight, everyone.

See you on MLK day.

It's been raining off and on here for the past day now and is supposed to continue raining for about a week. Usually, when they predict rain it happens like what you said, but I think this time we really will get rain all week long.

And, it's always windy here in Palmdale! If the wind speeds dip below 20mph, people start to think something is wrong...

Seriously, if Frankie was not determined, I would have already failed But, she is resolute, and I applaud her. The least I can do is not fail in front of her

You're a great mom. Let us know how you both do and give Frankie a thumbs up from me.

Looks like Paula's rain will hit us mid-week in the form of freezing rain. Lightening storms should be very cool to watch and photograph this summer, much better backgrounds and good protection from the elements for us.:D

GMAE all. Curt has the day off, I do not. :| Going to look at the last report I was working on last night. I kept falling asleep so it could be wonked.

Have a good day all.

I don't know about nesting birds but the feeding hummers get inches from me. Last season I was holding the feeder as I filled it and one was hovering inches in front of me at belly level. It was pretty neat.

Mom and dad had a feeder on their back porch that was frequented by a group of hummers. I learned lots of things about them. They are extremely territorial and aggressive, and would often dogfight over the preferred spot on the feeder, and they certainly had no qualms about the humans: We would sit on the back porch watching them, and one would come right up to your face and "sass" you. They would often do fly-by's of people in the yard, getting close enough to your ear it sounded like a bee on steroids flew by.

They are by far the coolest birds I've ever had the pleasure of encountering. Wife and I tried to set up a feeder, but no luck. A few honey bees, a couple paper wasps, but no birds ...

BTW, Christopher learned his first bad word yesterday: I was replacing the outlet, and noticed that after spending so much effort on making sure the hot wire was perfect, neglected to tighten the screw on one of the neutral wires. I said "crap" ... so, Christopher goes running off repeating "crat! crat, crat, crat! mommy! crat"

Uhhh oh...

"No! Don't say that word Christopher, daddy made a big mistake. That's a bad word! It's impolite and rude to say words like that!"

He hasn't repeated it since, so ... maybe it has escaped his head.

Wicked cool fog and frost on the trees again today. I'm thinking of calling someone to try and pull off another shoot this afternoon.

I thought they played the Chargers today?

LOL! The did. The disclaimer was to assure any one on the west coast that I had not been assimilated into Patriot Mania, and that by rooting the Jets on I was picking up the torch for the underdog, not changing my colors

Sorry you have no day off, of any of us, you deserve it.

Waves to Heather too. Enjoy the rain.

I am hoping that I may get an extra day off this week to recover from the 7 days of work last week (one day off from the Zoo and I had my volunteer hours at the other)

Crissa, does your toaster oven heat the same as a reg. oven? Just wondering. Mine doesn't seem to. I'm thinking I may have to return it and get the one you have afterall.

To use it as a regular oven I choose bake, then set the temp I want, then press start. When it has reached the temp I want it beeps so I can put the food in then time the baking accordingly. Same thing for the convection heating tho I set the temp lower usually.

I just ordered a REALLY nice Dell i7 machine for work!! they were running a special for today and tomorrow on one of their studio XPS models. The monitor probably sucks, but I don't care! I am thinking about getting anew one for home, so I can bring my home one in here.
